Charlotte, NC - April 14, 2008 - In some of the most exciting show jumping action that the United States has seen, it was Laura Kraut of Wellington, FL, and Anthem who stayed clear through three rounds to win the $500,000 Grand Prix of Charlotte, CSI 5* for the Charlotte Bobcats Cup. Brazil's Rodrigo Pessoa and Rufus finished second, while Chris Kappler of New Jersey was third on VDL Oranta. Ben Maher of Great Britain with Rolette rounded out the group that competed in the jump-off and finished in fourth place.

The winner of the evening session's highlight class, the $25,000 International Accumulator, CSI, was William Simpson of Thousand Oaks, CA, on El Campeon's Tosca.

Tampa, FL - April 8, 2008 - This past week Over The Hill Farm of Sanford, FL, had a clean sweep at the Tampa Equestrian Festival, coming away with circuit championships in every pony division. Shawn Casady and Parker Wright dominated the pony hunters, amassing numerous tricolors throughout the three week circuit. Both riders train with Bill Schaub of Over The Hill Farm.

Naples, FL - April 8, 2008 - On Sunday, April 6, Wrenwood Farms held the $20,000 ASG Software Solutions/USHJA International Hunter Derby. Created by the United States Hunter Jumper Association High Performance Hunter committee, the international hunter derbies return to the roots of the hunter discipline by bringing the lost art of tradition and horsemanship back to the show ring.

Naples, FL - April 7, 2008 - Proving they are one of the top hunter combinations in the country, Jennifer Alfano of Buffalo, NY, and Rock Star, owned by Bright Star 158 LLC and Jennifer Burger, won the $20,000 ASG Software Solutions USHJA International Hunter Derby. The event was held on Sunday, April 6, at Jenny Sutton's Wrenwood Farms in Naples, FL. The High Performance Hunter class benefited the Naples Equestrian Challenge Therapeutic Center.

Tampa, FL - April 5, 2008 - After a nearly hour long break because of inclement weather, McLain Ward of Brewster, NY, and his veteran mount Sapphire returned to the ring to complete their first round course. Their clear trip in the first round and one time fault in the jump-off gave them the win in the $200,000 Budweiser American Invitational, CSI 3*, presented by The Tampa Tribune and Sweetbay Supermarket. Richard Spooner and Cristallo finished second, while Christine McCrea and Promised Land were third.

Tampa, FL - April 5, 2008 - Shawn Casady had a big day in the pony hunter ring, picking up awards in every class he contested with his string of outstanding mounts. He walked away from the ring with four Championship titles, one for each of the divisions he competed in.

Tampa, FL - April 4, 2008 - Today's highlight jumper class at the Tournament of Champions, the final week of the Tampa Equestrian Festival, was held first thing this morning under the covered arena. As the times in the jump-off got faster and faster, it was Will Simpson of Thousand Oaks, CA, on El Campeon's Tosca that came away with victory in the 1.40m Jumper Classic.

Tampa, FL - April 4, 2008 - Amber Henter and Atlantic D were victorious in both the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship and the Pessoa USEF Hunt Seat Medal classes putting them well on their way towards qualifying for the Finals held at the end of the year. These classes were contested in the covered jumper ring this week as opposed to the main hunter ring where they have been for the past two weeks. Henter, 16, trains with Bob Braswell and Christina Schlusemeyer at their Quiet Hill Farm in Ocala, FL.

Tampa, FL - April 3, 2008 - Another torrential rain overnight made the Hunter rings even wetter than yesterday, but did not seem to affect the horses or deter the riders from putting out their best efforts.

Tampa, FL - March 22, 2008 - The first order of business today during the Suncoast Internationale at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center, was to crown the champion and reserve champion in the Amateur-Owner Hunter division. True to form, Betty Oare of Warrenton, VA and L'Alezon clinched the division with two more winning efforts. Bling Bling and Jennifer Farri of Brooksville, FL were named the reserve champion, placing second and third in the two classes today.

Tampa, FL - March 22, 2008 - The junior and amateur-owner jumpers continued their competition today at the Suncoast Internationale week of the Tampa Equestrian Festival, which runs through April 5 at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center. The highlight class of the week is the $75,000 Bob Thomas Grand Prix of Florida, which starts tomorrow at 2 p.m. Michael Murphy of Apopka, FL, was the winner of the Junior/Amateur-owner Power and Speed class today with Katina 12.

Not only is it her 44th wedding anniversary, but L'Alezon, her 8 year-old Selle Francais mare, won all three Amateur-Owner Hunter classes at the Suncoast Internationale at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center in Tampa.

Wellington, FL - December 9, 2007 - Eleven years ago this month in Wellington, McLain Ward lost the AGA Championships when he had one time fault and Margie Engle was the only clear round in the class. In this year's $100,000 National Horse Show Grand Prix FEI World Cup(TM) Qualifier, that situation was exactly reversed. On his new phenom Phillipa, Ward was the only clear round to win the class. Before that, however, horses and riders competed for ten weeks for the honor of being named “Circuit Champion.” The circuit champions were recognized at the Parade of Champions before the Invitational at the Raymond James Stadium in downtown, Tampa, FL. The 2007 WEF started on January 24 at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club in Wellington, FL, where eight weeks of hunter and jumper competition took place.
